YOU ARE HOME!

You are inside Baby Eloise's world... Well, actually inside her father's blog site about her, about us. This is a  track of my personal day-to-day experiences  from having to raise a baby (girl), entering parenthood, and most of all raising a 'beautiful' family. It is a great experience yet so difficult task for a man like me to enter fatherhood at my age (27, well I'm not young). But the fact that I was not a homebody and usually go out during my bachelor times, I was so overwhelmed by my situation now. Waking up in the middle of the night to feed my baby, changing diapers, singing a lullaby before putting her to sleep are just of the few things i can't imagine I will be doing. But don't get me wrong, I love it. Yes, its tedious but there is an unexplainable feeling of satisfaction and happiness when you see your child glances and smiles at you back.
Wait, I am not a single parent if you may think. It's just that I love my wife so much that I didn't let her give up her job instead of mine's... alright, I really don't have a job. : ) But to provide for my family and help my wife in our finances, we put up a small Internet shop in our home apartment that we are renting (thanks to Auntie Tess we are able  feed our baby right.) And I agreed to do her household tasks. So, right now, I am the mother - she's a boarder. : )

Our Little Angel Has a Name

"Just Eloise!?!", blurted out my wife's officemate and friend Ava over the phone, when i tried to get to their boss the news that my wife had already gave birth to a baby girl last July 14 - I was in a payphone in front of SM with unexplained exuberant emotions. But despite of such feeling, I had explained well to Ava why we opted to name our baby only "Eloise".
"We don't want to give her a hard time to write her name when time comes!", I told her.

"But double-names is "in" nowadays, why don't you add something on her name?", Ava insisted. Given the fact that she has a point, she, for one has also a long double-name as in Maureen Ava.  I paused for a while and have back thoughts of having her name changed or add something before or after  "Eloise". Hmm, if I put something before her name, that would have a royalty-sound in it like "lady", it'll become "Lady Eloise", wow!  But thinking how Ava got Maureen before it, in the end, we registered her name only Eloise! ...it's already in her birth certificate. : )

But where did we get her name then? My wife and I actually don't have any names in our mind even before she was pregnant and even before we knew that our baby was a girl. Until we saw Jodie Foster's movie  "The Brave One" where she plays a radio announcer and Eloise was mentioned in her narration at the beginning of the movie - the little girl at The Plaza. We barely hear the sound of the movie because of the old TV set we were watching at but when Jodie mentioned 'Eloise', we smiled and looked at each other, that's it!
